With their peak season being Summer, yellow-flesh watermelons make a beautiful and refreshing snack on a hot day. It can add some great variety or interest to desserts and salads as well – you could even simply layer it with pink watermelon for a fruit kebab!

The best way to store a cut watermelon is in a glass container in the fridge and avoid storing an uncut one close to any other fruits or vegetables. Once cut, it is best to eat it as quickly as possible, so that the fruit will be juicy and crunchy.

The best news is that something so delicious is also good for your immune system: yellow-flesh watermelon contains vitamins A and C, several B vitamins, potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium and phosphorous. Also, being about 90% water, the watermelon can also help to keep you hydrated on a hot day.

When they are in-season and in-store, we definitely recommend that you give one a try!
