What is a pluot? It’s a PLUm crossed with an apricOT and it is one seriously tasty hybrid fruit. Tangy and sweet, with a firm skin and crisp, but juicy flesh, this is one of the best snacking stone fruits around. The skin is a green/yellow/red/purple dapple but the flesh is often a rich crimson/pink colour. They are also referred to as Dapple Dandy plums and Dinosaur Eggs.

These fruits come into season at summer and you definitely don’t want to miss out on stocking up your kitchen with them. They are great to cook with, offering a perfect ingredient for desserts, tarts and salsa. They can also be grilled and served as a side for fish.
