Lo Bros is doing something differently: creating a refreshing drink for the modern world, using ancient recipes and techniques. If you’re new to the world of kombucha, allow us to give you a rundown of what it is exactly.
Kombucha is essentially a fermented tea – natural tea that is brewed with water, then sugar and SCOBY (Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeasts) is added and the liquid is allowed to naturally ferment over a period of time. Through the fermentation process, gut-friendly bacteria are born and thrive, creating a low-sugar fizzy beverage full of pre and probiotics.
Where Lo Bros Kombucha stands out is with the use of Certified Organic ingredients, natural flavours, single estate organic oolong and green tea and the drinks are never heat pasteurised, meaning they are full of healthy good bacteria. The Los Bros Kombucha range is very low in sugar, but with a small amount left over to ensure the living bacteria stay alive and healthy for the shelf life of the drink. The SCOBY used in the the Lo Bros range is wild and used to ferment each batch – batches are small, ensuring quality is maintained in every drink.

“There are lots of different strains of bacteria in Lo Bros. Kombucha because it’s a naturally fermented product, but like all happy families, we secretly have a few favourites. In brewing, the most abundant strains of bacteria are Acetobacter and Gluconobacter; these guys control the end-stage of the process, where beneficial acids are produced, and our kombucha becomes tasty and tangy. We test every batch, just to make sure it’s perfect. Plus, because we’re really into making the best products that we can, we top up our kombucha with some extra probiotic strains just before bottling. This means that we can guarantee that Lo Bros. always has more probiotics than we claim; it’s like a safety blanket for your tummy.”
Another added bonus of the Lo Bros range is that the drinks are all free from any ingredients containing gluten and are also produced in their factory that does not process any products containing gluten.
