The classic steak sandwich
You can't beat a classic steak sandwich for a healthy, satisfying midweek meal. Big thanks to our friends at Australian Beef for the recipe!
Ingredients
- 4 x Beef Scotch Fillet thin cut steaks, 100g each
- 2 tsp olive oil
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- mixed greens
- 1 x can of beetroot
- 1 x red onion, thinly sliced into rings
- tomato relish or chutney
- 4 x crusty bread rolls
- potato crisps and pickle spears to serve
Method
- Preheat a BBQ flat plate or heavy-based pan to high. Drizzle steaks with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook steak for 1 ½ – 2 minutes. Flip and cook for a further 1 – 2 minutes.
- Slice buns open and toast, cut-side down, on a hot pan or BBQ.
- Layer greens on one side of the toasted bun. Top with steak, beetroot, onion, relish, and bun lid.
- Arrange steak sandwiches on a platter, with crisps and pickles, to serve.
