Kerri and Brendon make up our talented duo of qualified and experienced chefs in Salamanca Fresh’s kitchen. We are very proud to introduce you to the team that create the delicious meals available daily from our in-store delis. They are also the team behind the fantastic weekly recipes, created using the weekly specials as inspiration.
Both Kerri and Brendon hold a passion for travel and have lived and worked in many different locations, developing their respective culinary repertoires and skills. They also share a love of ethnic and flavoursome food. Kerri has been cooking professionally for 22 years and Brendon for 13 years, both with a background in large hotels. Kerri and Brendon worked in Port Douglas, Queensland, at the Sheridan Mirage, where Kerri was Exec Sous; from there she went on to Novotel Oasis Cairns and Brendon to Hilton Cairns.
You will find an abundance of Tasmanian produce in the meals created by this team, especially due to the freshness and availability of local produce. Brendon loves being able to cook with such a variety; “from seafood, the whole way through… cheese, wines, the whole lot, right at your fingertips.”
Kerri has some great advice about keeping fresh produce at its best: “Take care of it when you first get it, store it properly in the fridge and always wrap fresh herbs that need to be wrapped.”
